After North Carolina lost on Saturday, the Kentucky Wildcats are back on top of the college basketball world.

Kentucky (4-0) received 59 of the 65 possible first-place votes after beating Duke, who was previously ranked No. 5. North Carolina, the previous No. 1, fell to Northern Iowa.

The Wildcats are no stranger to this position as a program, even if their young team might be. Kentucky was ranked No. 1 in every AP poll last season.

Maryland (3-0) received the other six first-place votes and are ranked No. 2.

After beating Kansas last week, Michigan State moved all the way from No. 13 to No. 3.

Utah, Baylor, Michigan and Butler all dropped from the rankings.
