Forward Keita Balde has left Lazio’s training camp to finalize a move to Inter Milan, according to Scouted Football.

The 22-year-old Balde has spent the last four years with Lazio in Serie A.

He had a breakout year this past season, scoring 16 goals while handing out three assists in 31 games. It marked the first time Balde had even come close to achieving a double-digit goal total in his career.

During the preceding campaign, the Senegalese footballer found the back of the net just four times while recording two assists, and during the 2014-15 season, Balde finished with just one goal and failed to register an assist.

He made his debut with Lazio’s first team in 2013-14, playing in 25 games and totaling five goals and three assists.

Balde was originally signed by Lazio in 2011, but was unable to play in youth matches for a year as he awaited his Spanish citizenship and EU passport in order to play in Italy (Balde was born in Spain).

The following year, Balde played with Lazio’s youth squad and trained with the first team. He was even selected by coach Vladimir Petkovic to sit on the bench for the first team during some if its matches later in the year, but he did not play in any games.

As far as international play, Balde represents Senegal despite the fact that he was born in Spain. Both of Balde’s parents are of Senegalese descent. He has scored three goals in 12 games of international play.

Inter Milan finished just seventh in Serie A standings last season.
