After taking a 1-0 lead in the top half of the first inning in Thursday’s Game 5, the Chicago Cubs were in danger of surrendering the lead with Bryce Harper at the plate for the Washington Nationals and Trea Turner standing on third base.

But thanks to second baseman Javy Baez, the Cubs were able to retain that lead. After fielding Harper’s slowly-hit ground ball, a quick-thinking Baez rifled a throw home to retire Turner for the second out of the inning.

Cubs starter Kyle Hendricks would end the inning by striking out Ryan Zimmerman.
