Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston named New England Patriots signal-caller Tom Brady and former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis among the top leaders he has seen, according to Greg Auman of The Tampa Bay Times.

“Everybody leads in their own way,” said Winston. “For me, as a leader, you have to continue to learn from everyone. Ultimately, you’ve got the (Tom) Bradys, you’ve got your Aaron Rodgers, you’ve got your defensive guys like Luke Kuechly, and one of my favorite leaders of all time in this game is Ray Lewis. Ray Lewis did it the best, with his passion and his drive to motivate his teammates.”

Winston and the Buccaneers will face three of those players this coming season, as Tampa Bay will take on Brady and the Patriots and Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers while also facing off twice against Kuechly and the division-rival Carolina Panthers.

The 23-year-old Winston, whom the Buccaneers selected with the No. 1 overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft, is entering his third season and has already shown signs of improvement.

Last year, the Florida State product threw for 4,090 yards, 28 touchdowns and 18 interceptions while completing 60.8 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 86.1.

He also led Tampa Bay to a 9-7 record and just missed out on the playoffs after going just 6-10 during his rookie campaign.

Winston already has one Pro Bowl under his belt, making it to Honolulu in his first year when he threw for 4,042 yards and 22 touchdowns.

Still, he was actually better during his sophomore campaign in spite of the lack of a Pro Bowl appearance.
