Four days ago, Garrett Cooper was playing at Triple-A Colorado Springs for the Milwaukee Brewers organization. On Sunday night, he was collecting his first major league hit — a double — as a member of the New York Yankees at Fenway Park against Boston Red Sox southpaw David Price.

Life comes at you fast.

The 6-foot-6 slugger was annihilating the baseball at Triple-A to the tune of a .366 average to go along with 17 home runs and 82 RBI in 75 games. With New York struggling to find a first baseman, the 26-year-old Cooper was acquired and immediately plugged into the lineup, finally collecting his first hit on Sunday.
