Now that the season started, prepare for this fantasy football campaign to fly by. Unfortunately, we already have a number of injuries, most notably Keenan Allen, who will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL.
As a wide receiver who some predicted to finish in the top 10, it’s quite a blow for fantasy teams that were hoping he could be a WR-2 or even WR-1.
So whom will Philip Rivers turn to now?
Travis Benjamin is next in line to see an uptick after eight targets in the first game with Tyrell Williams and Dontrelle Inman also seeing more time. But with Melvin Gordon and Danny Woodhead carrying the ball a combined 30 times against the Chiefs, San Diego may look to run the ball even more without Allen.
But where do those guys fall for Week 2?
Looking at last week’s rankings, I had a few hits (everyone on the Lions, Tevin Coleman, Willie Snead) and a few misses (Russell Wilson, Duke Johnson, Jordy Nelson), but that’s how it goes. No matter how much you study, you can’t predict every single player’s outcome. Did Dez Bryant even play? Who knows.
The more notable results with fantasy consequences include the Colts having zero defense, the Bucs offense living up to the hype and the Chiefs defense being worse than expected without Justin Houston. Of course, there was a lot more to takeaway than that, but we only have so much time.
It’s Week 2 and you need to set your lineup. Let’s see what the lists look like.
