Connecticut Women Win NCAA Tournament

Geno Auriemma made history when his UConn women’s basketball team won a 10th national title with a 63-53 win over Notre Dame on Tuesday night.

Auriemma joins John Wooden as the only college coach to win 10 national championships.

The Lady Huskies finished 38-1 on the season.

Breanna Stewart, who won the Naismith Award for best player in college basketball, earned Final Four MOP, although she was held to just eight points on Tuesday. She did grab 15 rebounds.

This is Connecticut’s second three-peat, as Auriemma’s team also won in 2002-04.
