Heading into Week 17, the Indianapolis Colts are heading into their matchup at the Tennessee Titans with both a real shot at the playoffs and also a quarterback depth chart that is in complete disarray. Earlier today, the team announced that emergency quarterback signee Charlie Whitehurst would be going on an Injured Reserve. Whitehurst had replaced back-up Matt Hasselbeck due to Hasselbeck’s own injury in the middle of Indianapolis’ 18-12 victory over the Miami Dolphins.
As ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports, long-term starter Andrew Luck has also not been cleared to return to the field, meaning that the team could go with their fourth-string option in Week 17:

Morris has spent time on the practice squads of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Philadelphia Eagles earlier this year, and has yet to play in an NFL game since going undrafted out of the University of Miami in 2014.
As for Indianapolis’ opponent, the Titans, they will likely be starting Zach Mettenberger after regular starter Marcus Mariota sustained his own season-ending injury. Since being drafted in the sixth round by the Titans in 2014, Mettenberger has gone 0-9 in his career starts.
