Brad Stevens may be coaching the Boston Celtics, but people at Butler still feel his presence.

“He’s still very much in tune with our program,” Butler head coach Chris Holtmann said Monday on the College Hoops Today Podcast. “He’s revered around here. He’s texted me and told me that he’s made a point to go and watch us play at certain times this year. He’s been a great friend.”

Stevens led the Bulldogs to back-to-back appearances in the national title game in 2010 and 2011.

Butler faces North Carolina in the Sweet 16 on Friday night in Memphis.
