Charlotte to host 2017 NBA All Star Game

The Charlotte Hornets have won their bid for the 2017 NBA All Star Game and an official announcement will be made on Tuesday, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reported.

A big factor in the decision for Charlotte to host was the $27.5 million that the city agreed to pay to fund various improvements in the arena.

Michael Jordan figures to be a large part of the event as the Hornets owner. In addition, Stephen Curry will create plenty of buzz as a Charlotte native and a likely star at the game.

Charlotte hasn’t hosted the All Star Game since 1991. This will be the first All Star Game for Time Warner Cable Arena.
