Cardinals outfield having all kinds of problems against Mets

The St. Louis Cardinals outfield wasn’t doing right-hander Adam Wainwright any favors Monday against the New York Mets.

Right fielder Magneuris Sierra and center fielder Dexter Fowler were unable to handle a ball in the gap off the bat of Jose Reyes. Making matters worse, Sierra’s recovery throw was airmailed, allowing Reyes to come around to score in the sixth inning.

On the very next pitch, Fowler botched a routine fly ball to allow Travis d’Arnaud to reach second.

The Cardinals outfield mates may want to consider taking Wainwright out to a nice dinner to get back in the good graces of the veteran right-hander.
