By now you have heard of the now famous feline that walked across the field right before St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina hit a game-winning grand slam home run against the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday night.

The streaking Cardinals have won seven games in a row overall and, including the contest in which Molina hit the grand slam, have captured three straight victories since the cat appeared.

Well, now, the St. Louis organization is showing its appreciation for the legendary animal with “Rally Cat Appreciation Day,” according to an official press release obtained by Benjamin Hochman of The St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

That’s right.

The Cardinals are adding this event to their 2017 theme ticket schedule, and on Sept. 10 against the Pittsburgh Pirates, St. Louis is partnering with Purina to honor the cat.

In addition, a portion of each ticket purchased will be donated to Tony LaRussa’s Animal Rescue Foundation and the St. Louis Feral Cat Outreach nonprofit organization.

“Both the team and our fans have been rejuvenated since the Rally Cat’s unexpected appearance at Busch Stadium,” Cardinals manager of promotion and events Megan Eberhart said. “We thought this theme day would be a fun and unique way to honor our newest furry friend.”

Fans in attendance will receive an exclusive Rally Cat-themed t-shirt.

The Cardinals are making arrangements to care for the cat long term.

St. Louis, which looked to be falling out of contention several weeks ago, entered play on Sunday with a record of 60-56 and sat just one game behind the hated-rival Chicago Cubs for first place in the National League Central Division.
