Not that the New England Patriots will be in the market for a new placekicker any time soon, as they have one of the better options in the NFL in Stephen Gostkowski. But maybe Bill Belichick would be willing to allow Boston Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask to put on the pads and join the team for a practice.
Rask was at the Patriots’ facility Tuesday, and during his time there he managed to kick a ball through the uprights from 40 yards out.

Say what you will about the approach, given actual placekickers don’t get that much time before kicking the ball. But for Rask to be able to kick an oblong ball accurately from that distance is impressive, given the fact that it isn’t his sport of choice.
