The New York Yankees were in need of some insurance runs in the ninth inning against Cleveland Indians closer Cody Allen, with leadoff man Brett Gardner delivering arguably the at-bat of the season for the Bronx Bombers. A base hit into right field plated Aaron Hicks, before a lackadaisical play allowed Todd Frazier to come scooting around, leaving Progressive Field in hushed silence.

New York put itself three outs away from climbing out of a 2-0 series hole and setting a date with the Houston Astros in the ALCS.
