Many questions have been asked regarding Los Angeles Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball’s first signature sneaker, which will be released in November. Ball wore a version of the shoe during his first game in the NBA summer league in Las Vegas, before switching to shoes made by Nike, adidas and Under Armour.
Big Baller Brand, established by father Lavar Ball, received a boost in the publicity department Friday, as 2K Sports announced that the ZO2 sneakers will be in the NBA 2K18 video game when it’s released in the fall. Unfortunately, while 2K Sports did include an image of “video game” Lonzo Ball in the announcement, there is no photo displaying how his signature sneaker looks in the game.

Ball’s initial rating in the game was made public earlier this month, with 2KSports giving him an overall rating of 80.
Given his skill set, as well as his father’s loud personality, Ball was under the microscope in Las Vegas and that will likely be the case when the regular season begins as well. Ball will be the starting point guard for a storied franchise that has fallen on hard times in recent years.
That status, along with how Ball performs, will have an impact on just how popular the Big Baller Brand can become.
After struggling in his summer league opener, the former UCLA point guard hit his stride, playing well enough to earn MVP honors ahead of the championship game. And with Ball sitting out due to a calf injury, the Lakers won the summer league title with championship game MVP — and fellow first-round pick — Kyle Kuzma leading the way.
