Braves Win Big by Snagging Toussaint From Diamondbacks

The Atlanta Braves were major beneficiaries of a salary dump by the Arizona Diamondbacks late Saturday night. The full trade: injured starter Bronson Arroyo and minor league pitching prospect Touki Toussaint to Atlanta in exchange for utility infielder Phil Gosselin.

In essence, the D-Backs gave up their 2014 first-round pick in exchange for a bench-caliber player and to free up some cash.

Knuckleball’s Gary Phillips looks at this deal as a big win for the Braves, who continue to stockpile young assets in their rebuild.

NBA: APR 19 First Round - Game 1 - Celtics at Cavaliers

Is David Blatt the Right Man for LeBron James?

The situation in Cleveland between LeBron James and head coach David Blatt is an interesting one. The duo led the Cavaliers to the NBA Finals this season, before ultimately falling to the Golden State Warriors in six games. Is David Blatt the Right Man for LeBron James?

Fastbreak’s Anthony Beers calls the question itself “cringe-worthy,” but it is certainly one that must be asked. James will opt out of his current deal, but will likely return to the Cavaliers. Will he make any comments about Blatt to owner Dan Gilbert?

Who knows? But one this is for sure: Gilbert will choose James over Blatt if it comes down to that.

Andre Johnson’s age shouldn’t concern Indianapolis Colts

Although wide receiver Andre Johnson is getting up in age at a position that does not typically age well, the Indianapolis Colts should not worry about their free agent acquisition. Johnson still has plenty in the tank and gets to work with a star quarterback (Andre Luck) for the first time in his career.

Pigskin’s Nathanael Rutherford says Johnson has been nothing if not consistently productive throughout his NFL career. The Colts can expect much of the same this season.
