Athletics appear to announce a new stadium on horizon

30 APRIL 2014: Oakland Athletics cap during a regular season MLB game between the Oakland Athletics and Texas Rangers at Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas.

The Oakland Athletics’ status in their city will rise soon by process of elimination after the Raiders made a deal to leave for Las Vegas. But the A’s aren’t going anywhere, they’ve emphatically announced (via cool logo on Twitter).

The A’s revealed on Twitter they will have an announcement about a new ballpark site later this season, which would be big news after the acrimony that transpired between the Raiders — who share the 51-year-old Oakland Coliseum with the A’s — and the city prior to the messy divorce.

Perhaps this new stadium could aim for slightly more reasonable foul territory.
