Artist paints mural of Colin Kaepernick in Falcons jersey

Todd Kirkland/Icon Sportswire

The Colin Kaepernick-led San Francisco 49ers once denied the Atlanta Falcons a Super Bowl berth in a tight NFC Championship game nearly five years ago, but the polarizing quarterback’s social justice movement has inspired an interesting mural in Atlanta.

A well-designed piece of graffiti now depicts Kaepernick wearing a Falcons jersey. Props to the helmet design, in particular. Very well done.

After six seasons with the 49ers, Kaepernick remains unsigned and will enter his sixth month of free agency in September.

Another thing is that Kaepernick would never play in a Falcon’s uniform. Arthur Blank would never be dumb enough to bring him to Atlanta. He is a very smart businessman and he knows what the backlash would be. And Dan Quinn would never allow it either. We have a brotherhood in Atlanta and there’s no room for politics or disruptions on our team. Rise Up!

They did not deny the Atlanta Falcons anything. The Atlanta Falcons denied themselves a win at the end of that game. It had nothing to do with the 49er’s.
