Al Horford’s last-second basket was enough for the Atlanta Hawks to edge the Washington Wizards 82-81 on Wednesday night. The victory gives Atlanta a 3-2 series lead heading to the nation’s capital for Game 6.
Horford rebounded a missed shot by Dennis Schroder and found a way to get enough space to put up the game-winning shot. He finished the game with a double-double: 23 points and 11 rebounds.
Things looked bleak for the Hawks just a few seconds prior, as Washington’s Paul Pierce hit a three-point shot with 8.3 seconds remaining to give his team an 81-80 lead. Pierce hit a last-second shot for the win earlier in the series.
