Running back Adrian Peterson returned to the Minnesota Vikings’ organized team activities earlier this week, holding a press conference upon his return to announce he was glad to be back. Thursday marked the third day Peterson was on the field with the team and reports out of Eden Prairie, Minnesota say he is impressing.
“I haven’t been around him a year, or six months. I didn’t know he’d come back in this type of shape,” cornerback Captain Munnerlyn told ESPN. “The guy is in unbelievable shape, like he hadn’t missed a step, and he’s out to prove a point.”
Peterson worked with the first-team offense and performed more than admirably after missing nearly nine months.
“I’ve been around a lot of these guys a lot of years, and he’s one of the top guys I’ve been around,” Vikings offensive coordinator Norv Turner said. “He just comes out and looks like he hasn’t missed a day. It was nice having him.”
“Certain guys are going to contribute more than others, and I’d assume Adrian is that guy that will contribute more than others. If you’re going to be a really good offensive football team, you have to use all the guys you have.”
