While the Minnesota Vikings will be without head coach Mike Zimmer on Thursday against the Dallas Cowboys, the team will welcome back wide receiver Stefon Diggs so it seems. According to a Thursday afternoon report from Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Vikings’ No. 1 wide out is currently listed as questionable for the NFC showdown while he is expected to play.

Diggs was forced to miss last Thursday’s Thanksgiving matchup against the Detroit Lions due to a lingering knee injury.

The 23-year-old pass catcher has already appeared in nine of the Vikings’ 11 games this season. Nonetheless, Diggs has been targeted 87 times thus far as he has registered 67 receptions for 747 yards and two touchdowns. While appearing in 13 games as a rookie a season ago, the University of Maryland product managed four touchdown receptions in 2015-2016 despite not producing as many catches, targets or yards.

After beginning the season with a perfect 5-0 record, the Vikings now find themselves in danger of falling to .500 on the year. Following their five-game winning streak, Minnesota has come up short against the likes of the Philadelphia Eagles, Chicago Bears, Washington Redskins and the aforementioned Lions on two separate occasions. The Vikings’ lone win since their Week 6 bye came against the struggling Arizona Cardinals.

This time around, the Vikings will be forced to remain in the NFC playoff hunt while squaring off against the surging Cowboys. Led by the now infamous rookie tandem of quarterback Dak Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott, the Cowboys will be looking to improve to 11-1 on the season after their only loss came all the way back in Week 1 against the New York Giants.

Despite their recent struggles, the Vikings’ offense will at least attempt to rebound with their No. 1 wide receiver in Diggs back on the field to aid quarterback Sam Bradford.
