North Carolina State Wolfpack talent Maverick Rowan will not play in the team’s Tuesday night game against the Illinois Fighting Illini, Mark Gottfried told FanRag Sports. He has been dealing with the aftermath of suffering a concussion.
Rowan hasn’t played in a game since Nov. 11.
During last season, he was named to 2016 Academic All-ACC Team, started 31 games while ranking second on the team and 12th in the ACC with 33.4 minutes per game. Rowan also made 81 shots from beyond the arc, setting a new school freshman record. One of his more notable endeavors from last season was his 24 points and made season-high six three-pointers in an ACC Tournament win over Wake Forest.
After starting the season by rattling off three straight victories, the Wolfpack lost its first game to Creighton. North Carolina State has been able to bounce back, however, winning their last two games.
The game against Illinois is scheduled for to tip at 9:00 PM Eastern. It is a part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. The game will be aired on ESPNU. The Fighting Illini will enter the outing 4-3, as they are coming off three straight losses.
