According to a statement released via Twitter on Monday afternoon, seven-foot center Ikechukwu Obiagu has committed to the Florida State Seminoles. While garnering interest from all around the country, it appears that Obiagu has settled on Florida State over the likes of the Baylor Bears, Auburn Tigers, Maryland Terrapins, Florida Gators, Arizona Wildcats and Kansas Jayhawks among many others.

Rated as a four-star recruit for the class of 2017, Obiagu currently attends Greenforest Mccalep Christian Academy and is a native of Decatur, Georgia.

“First off I would like to thank God for His numerous blessings in my life,” he began. “Also I want to thank my family, my coaches, Greenforest Basketball, Georgia Stars family, big bro Ejike, and my teammates for looking out for me. Also thanks to every other school and coaches that recruited me, I can’t thank everybody enough. But I’ve decided to further my education and basketball career at Florida State University. #GoNoles”

Standing at seven feet tall while weighing 230 pounds, Obiagu is ranked as the No. 4 center in the country in addition to being slated as the No. 47 overall player in the nation, according to 247Sports. A consensus top talent, the up-and-coming big man is also rated as the No. 6 overall player in the state of Georgia for the class of 2017.

It is also worth noting that the Seminoles’ newest addition previously visited the Florida State campus back on October 28, exactly one month prior to his commitment to the program from Monday.
